William Johnson Everett is the Herbert Gezork Professor of Christian Social Ethics, Emeritus, at Andover Newton Seminary at Yale. He holds degrees from Wesleyan University, Yale Divinity School and Harvard University, where he was James Luther Adams’s teaching assistant. In his more than thirty years of teaching he held posts at St. Francis Seminary (Milwaukee), Candler School of Theology at Emory University, and Andover Newton Theological School as well as guest professorships in Heidelberg, Germany; Bangalore, India; and Cape Town, South Africa. He is the author of numerous books and articles in the field of ethics as well as works of fiction, poetry, and memoir. He and his wife Sylvia live in Waynesville, NC, where he engages in writing, woodworking, and worship design. He blogs regularly at www.WilliamEverett.com.
